3 to induce CYP24 expression in bone cells. This observation is interesting because PTH inhibits CYP24 expression in the proximal convoluted tubule of the kidney. The molecular mechanisms involved were carefully studied. The results gain in credibility as the effect was observed in primary cultures in addition to established cell lines.
