note

Paul Davies studied environmental biology and geography at Nene College and undertook research in molluscan palaeoecology at the University of Wales, College of Cardiff. Following a year with the Humber Wetlands Project at the University of Hull he took up his present post, as Lecturer in Environmental Science, in 1993. His major research interests are in past and present molluscan ecology and biogeography (particularly in wetlands), the archaeological implications of Holocene sea-level rise, and the fidelity of the sub-fossil record (particularly Mollusca) in environmental archaeology.
