As either (Formula presented) or (Formula presented) may be larger than (Formula presented), more work is required for detailed comparison. However, since the divergence in Eq. (4) is slow (logarithmic) and the charge dependence of (Formula presented) is weak, the target-charge dependence of the scaled momentum distributions for fixed-target experiments will be very weak.
18. After we completed this work, two manuscripts appeared in the Los Alamos reprint archive discussing the high-energy limit of pair-production amplitudes in heavy-ion collisions 1415. These manuscripts offer additional insight and perspective.
