    • Quality of life after small intestinal transplantation and among home parenteral nutrition patients
    • The purpose of this study was to compare the quality of life of small bowel adult recipients before, while on home parenteral nutrition and after small intestinal transplantation. Quality of life was examined across multiple areas of function including physical, social, and emotional indices using self-administered questionnaire. This is the first paper dealing with quality of life after intestinal transplantation

    • Impact of liver and/or intestinal transplantation on the family was assessed in a cross-sectional sample of 41 mothers and 21 fathers evaluated pretransplantation and 2 months posttransplantation. It concludes that early identification of families at psychosocial risk and the development of interventions that may prevent or reduce psychological distress are indicated to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children and their family

    • Factors impacting the survival of children with intestinal failure referred for intestinal transplantation
    • It is a very important paper from a cohort of 257 pediatric patients with intestinal failure who were evaluated for intestinal transplantation. The mortality rate is very high during the waiting time due to the poor condition of many patients with advanced liver disease. One of the conclusions is to focus on the need of the multidisciplinary teams to manage patients with intestinal failure
