    • The DVB used is usually a mixture of para-, meta-, and ethylvinylbenzenes. Kinetic studies (104-105) on pure products showed that the para-isomer reacts slightly faster with the living chain than the meta-isomer. Nonetheless, the meta-isomer was found to be more efficient in linking than the para form; i.e., at given ratio of divinylbenzene/dienyllithium the higher degree of branching was achieved with the meto-isomer.
