The unequivocal determination of the stereochemistry at carbon-3 {α-OH} for dippinines A and C indicates that for the earlier compounds of this group, viz., chippiine (1) and 10,11-demethoxychippiine (2), further proof are required for a definitive establishment of the stereochemistry at this centre.
