This excellent prospective study evaluated the ability of pelvic examination, tumor marker assessment, transvaginal sonography and Doppler ultrasound to predict pelvic malignancy. The authors conclude that sonographic tumor size and appearance are the best predictors of pelvic malignancy in premenopausal women, whereas Ca-125 and sonographic appearance are the best predictors in postmenopausal patients.
