    • Major basic metabolites in dog urine were prepared using a strong cation exchange (SCX) solid-phase extraction (SPE) column (Bond Elut, Analytichem International). Subsequently, the structures of the metabolites were confirmed by NMR and MS analyses (unpublished data).
