31. We observed that this preparatory stirring period (2 h, room temperature) was indispensable to attain the high yields given in the Table 1. Presumably, transient iodine(I) and, particularly, iodine(III) species are formed all not at once, but they need some definite time to get possibly highest concentration levels.
