At 6 months, 24 patients had small residual shunts and five had moderate to large residual shunts. Twenty devices were retrieved percutaneously and six additional devices were surgically removed.

In this article, the authors reported on a substantial single-center experience with 347 Palmaz stents in 200 patients with postoperative pulmonary artery stenosis, congenital pulmonary artery stenosis, or stenosis of systemic veins or venous anastomoses. Despite two deaths, the authors reported excellent immediate and long-term relief of obstruction and no late morbidity.
