    • 4 (2.65 g, 70 mmol) in DME (25 mL) was added MeOH (12.5 mL) dropwise over a period of 1 h maintaining the temperature of >70°C. After stirring for an additional 1 h, the reaction mixture was quenched with water and extracted with toluene. The separated aqueous layer was reextracted with toluene. The combined organic layers were washed successively with water and 10% brine. Removal of the solvent under reduced pressure gave product as a colorless liquid which was homogeneous by HPLC analysis.
