    • One of the referees pointed out the possibility that BNN5Na enters the smooth muscle cells during the loading but is simply washed out of the tissue during the Krebs-Ringer rinse. The fact that BNN5Na formed by hydrolysis of BNN5M in cells remained in cells after washing with fresh Krebs-Ringer solution (Fig. 9) clearly demonstrates that BNN5Na in cells cannot be washed out of cells with Krebs-Ringer rinse.
