    • Crystal structure of the MHC class I homolog MIC-A, a γδ T cell ligand
    • In MIC-A, the standard helical turn that links the α1α2 peptide-binding domain with α3 in all other MHC class I-type molecules is replaced with four residues in an extended chain conformation, giving an apparently flexible link. This change allows the adoption of a completely nonstandard MHC class I quaternary structure in the crystal.
