    • At the beginning of this work, we assumed the anomalously low thermal conductivity value of 2.4 mW/cm-K at 300K for EuSe in the Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, 74th Ed., "Properties of Semiconductors" eds. L.I. Berger and B.R. Pamplin, 1993-1994 was correct. Subsequent unpublished measurements (communicated by G.A. Slack) by R.O. Pohl and Eunjoo Wahang at Cornell University (using a high-quality, high-electrical-resistivity bulk single crystal of EuTe grown at Lincoln Laboratory by R.E. Fahey) yielded a value for the lattice thermal conductivity for EuTe of 110 mW/cm-K at 300K. Since both EuSe and EuTe have the rock-salt crystal structure, the Handbook value for the thermal conductivity of EuSe is incorrect.
