The influence of an aging surgical population on the anesthesia workload; A ten-year survey
-
Klopfenstein CE, Herrmann FR, Michel JP, Clerque F, Forster A. The influence of an aging surgical population on the anesthesia workload; a ten-year survey. Anesth Analg 1998; 86:1165-1170. This report illustrates that the increased anaesthetic workload in a big teaching hospital over the last 10 years is mainly due to the increased geriatric (patients aged 65 and over) surgical activity.
