The results of treatment with surgery and chemotherapy for 46 patients treated for high-grade surface osteosarcoma are reported. They found that this rare variant of osteosarcoma has an oncologic outcome similar to that for conventional osteosarcoma. Patients had a better outcome with wide surgical margins and systemic chemotherapy.
