1. The authors performed an Internet search with Dogpile (a meta-search engine) using the Boolean expression <> and found 20,043 websites. However, when <> was added, only 2850 websites remained. Further, a closer reading of those revealed that many of the risks were in regard to conventional medicines that herbal remedies are supposed to replace, and not to the herbs themselves.
