21. Mike Meyerstein received his honours degree in Mechanical Engineering Science from the University of Liverpool in 1971. After a varied international career including seven years in the Canadian telecommunications industry, he joined BT Laboratories in 1985. After spending 5 years working on innovations in electronic packaging, he became BT's technical adviser for smart cards in early 1991. Since then he has worked on projects including Phonecard, Mondex and the BT Smart Card Platform.
