    • We can measure the capacitance per unit area by using a spacer of known base area as shown above Fig. 4. The spacer inhibits spreading of liquid, hence a measurement of the capacitance yields the capacitance per unit area. One should take care that water does not creep under the spacer and that air is not captured at the spacer edge.
