12. 8. The NMR spectrometers used in the original research were vastly different to those used in the current research and made direct comparison of the spectra almost useless.

By the time we had made the observation in reference 8, the small quantity of peroxide 2 remaining after biological evaluation was insufficient to allow us to pursue the absolute stereochemistry. Since the second specimen of P. aff. angulospiculatus did not contain peroxide 2, we will not be able to determine the absolute stereochemistry until we locate the correct sponge.
