    • 2I, 0.17g (4.5 mmoles) of sodium borohydride, 0.03g (0.18 mmole) of AIBN and 20 ml of ethanol was added a solution of 1-bromoadamantane (0.387g, 1.8 mole) and dodecane as internal standard (0.153g, 0.90 mmole) in 10 ml of ethanol. The mixture was slowly stirred at 65°C for 12 hours. After filtration the liquid phase was washed with water and extracted with pentane. The organic layer was dried and filtered (diameter of filter: 0.45 μm). The yield of adamantane was evaluated by GC analysis.
