14. The b' and c' directions are perpendicular to the chain direction a. These directions also define the faces of the samples on which the optical experiments were conducted and are slightly different from the b and c directions of the unit cell because of the triclinic crystal structure. This small difference does not influence the arguments advanced in this work.
