The vinylphosphonic acids and ester were simply prepared by reaction of phosphorus trichloride with acetophenon derivatives and acetic acid with good yields ranging from 55 to 78%. The 1-phenylethenylphosphonic acid was treated with triethylorthoformate to afford the diethyl 1-phenylethenylphosphonic ester with 77% of yield. (Chemical Equation Presented)
