Briefly, heparinized (10 U/ml) human whole blood samples were stimulated with 10 μg/ml LPS and incubated in RPMI-1640 medium with or without the inhibitors. After an 18 h incubation at 37 °C, the samples were centrifuged at 1000 g, the supernatants removed and tested for their IL-1β level using ELISA kits.
