No reaction was observed when 1 (10mM) was incubated with ethanol (22mM) in the presence of the following enzymes (10mg/mL): Subtilisin Carlsberg (Sigma), lipoprotein lipase from Pseudomonas specie (Amano), lipase from Mucor miehei (Fluka), lipase A (Amano), lipase from porcine pancreas (Sigma), lipase from Candida cylindracea (Fluka), lipase from Aspergillus niger (Fluka), lipase from Rhizopus arrhizus (Fluka), lipase from Penicillum Roqueforti (Fluka), proteinase 2A from Aspergillus Oryzae (Fluka), α-Chymotrypsin from bovine pancreas (Fluka), proteinase 6 from Aspergillus specie (Fluka). Lipases were used in toluene dried over 4Å molecular sieves while proteinase and α-Chymotrypsin were incubated in toluene previously saturated with water.
