A comment has to be made about the value of Φ = 1.11. It is widely accepted that Φ should be 1 for purely disperse solid-liquid interfacial interactions, and Φ < 1 for disparate solid-liquid interfacial interactions [13]. Hence values of Φ > 1 may not seem to be physically reasonable. However, it has to be noted that experimental values as high as Φ = 1.15 have been reported in the literature [7]. We attribute such a high value of Φ to the simplicity of our model rather than the experimental errors associated with determining γSAM, γPEP, and γdPEP. Nonetheless we stress that by using Φ = 1.11, the agreement between the experiment and the model in the analysis presented in ref. [4] would improve.
