Since it is too hasardous to assume the stereospecificity of Alcalase towards natural AAs is the same that for α,α-substituted AAs like Ib or IIc, (+) and (-) enantiomers obtained were tested on the enzyme, only (+) enantiomers have significant inhibitory property.
