    • 19. Bestmann reported another strategy for the preparation of the ylide corresponding to diethoxymethyltriphenyl phosphonium salts. This method is based on the alkylation of formylmethylenephosphorane by ethyl bromide, followed by the addition of sodium ethylate on the ethoxyvinyl phosphonium intermediate.
