1. Timor is produced by PT Timor Putra National, owned by President Suharto's youngest son Hutomo Mandala. In Febuary 1996, the government granted a three-year tax exemption to the Timor car. Japan, the United States and the European Union have pointed out that the measure ran counter to the principles of non-protection which Indonesia is obligated to uphold under the World Trade Organisation.
