    • The possibility of an intrinsic surface reconstruction has been considered in a recent calculation by I. I. Mazin and D. J. Singh (Phys. Rev. Lett. 79 (1997) 733), who suggest that a 0.03-0.04 nm change in the Ru-O2 bond length at the surface could change the electronic structure to one similar to that deduced from ARPES.
