    • PIC simulations with open boundaries are inherently dissipative-like, even if plasma is essentially collisionless. Electron escaping boundaries take a quiver energy with them, hence introducing the effective dissipation length shorter than L and an increased (intensity dependent) threshold for absolute Raman instability. On the contrary, relativistic Vlasov simulations easily recover periodic pulsation regime of SRS.
