Egg weight and proportions of yolk, albumen, and shell from the two age groups were tested for normalcy of distribution and homogeneity of variance in order to validate a student t-test analysis having the two breeder hen ages as contrasts. Chick weights, percentages of chick carcass without yolk sacs, and yolk sacs with contents were analyzed using an ANOVA with breeder hen age and sex as main factors. Responses were considered significantly different when P <.05.
