    • After we submitted this paper for publication, it came to our notice that Wegner and coworkers had reported earlier the viscosities of aqueous solutions of a rigid rod polyelectrolyte, poly(p-phenylene sulfonic acid) with or without salt. The viscosity behaviors of the polymer were found to be similar to the results reported in this paper. However, they did not observe the time dependence of viscosity. R. Rulkens, G. Wegner, V.
