    • This paper highlights the importance of cortical structures in modulating crossmodal orienting behaviour that was previously associated with the superior colliculus. Further work by this group (see [56]) shows how cortical inputs modulate neural responses of the colliculus, in a crossmodal manner. of outstanding interest
