Technical report summary: The neurodiagnostic evaluation of the child with a first simple febrile seizure
-
•] provide valuable guidance for the investigation of the first simple febrile seizure. Identifying the cause of fever is stressed. Lumbar puncture should be strongly considered in children aged under 12 months, considered in children aged 12-18 months and performed in older children if meningitis is clinically suspected. Neuroimaging and electroencephalography have little role.

Evidence for a novel gene for familial febrile convulsions, FEB2, linked to chromosome 19p in an extended family from the midwest
-
Johnson EW, Dubovsky J, Rich SS, et al. Evidence for a novel gene for familial febrile convulsions, FEB2, linked to chromosome 19p in an extended family from the midwest. Hum Mol Genet 1998; 7:63-67.
