    • Cases are known where the at risk partner has the mutation test only after pregnancy and then, given a positive result, proceeds to have the fetus tested. Such cases are, however, rare as they involve the possibility of the at risk parent discovering that he or she has the mutation, having the fetus tested, and deciding about an abortion all in the space of a very few weeks.
