Effect of continuous quality improvement analysis on the delivery of primary percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction
-
Caputo RP, Ho KK, Stoler RC, Sukin CA, Lopez JJ, Cohen DJ, Kuntz RE, Berman A, Carroza JP, Baim DS. Effect of continuous quality improvement analysis on the delivery of primary percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction. Am J Cardiol 1997, 79:1159-1164. Important article looking at the implementation of a critical pathway for primary angioplasty. Their initial experience showed long door-to-balloon times and high mortality. When they streamlined the process, they reduced time to treatment and mortality.
