The use of magnetic resonance imaging in the assessment of malignant vaginal fistulas
-
Crawford RAF, Healy JC, Reznek RH, Phillips RR, Armstrong P, Shepherd JH. The use of magnetic resonance imaging in the assessment of malignant vaginal fistulas. Int J Gynecol Cancer 1997; 7:267-272. A report of the use of MRI in the investigation of seven vesicovaginal and seven rectovaginal fistulae, suggesting that this form of imaging provides important information that assists in the planning of treatment but cannot be used in isolation or to replace examination under anaesthetic.

-
Osorio Gullón A, de Oca J, Lûpez Costea MA, Virgili J, Ramos E, del Rio C, Martí Ragué J. Double barreled wet colostomy: a safe and simple method after pelvic exenteration. Int J Colored Dis 1997; 12:37-41. This study describes a new method of urinary diversion that involves anastomosing the ureters into a redundant segment of the sigmoid colon.
