Plasma exchange improves function in a patient with ANNA-1 seropositive paraneoplastic autonomic neuropathy
-
Bohnen NI, Cheshire WP, Lennon VA, Van Den Berg CJ. Plasma exchange improves function in a patient with ANNA-1 seropositive paraneoplastic autonomic neuropathy. Neurology 1997; 8:A131. Many acute autonomic neuropathies appear to be postinfectious and may be immune-mediated. Treatment with intravenous immune globulin during the acute stage may be efficacious. When and if treatment should be instituted is uncertain. The authors consider intravenous immune globulin within 6-8 weeks of onset of acute panautonomic neuropathy.
