    • The closest example concerns a family of 5-pyridyl-1,3-diaryl pyrazo-lines which were substitutionally tunable (A. P. de Silva, H. Q. N. Gunaratne, P. L. M. Lynch, J. Chem. Soc. Perkin Trans. 2 1995, 685). However these were not produced from one-step syntheses. The addressable wavelength ranges were also much smaller than in the present instances.
