Asthma and panic attacks

Perna G, Bertani A, Politi E, Colombo G, Bellodi L: Asthma and panic attacks. Biol Psychiatry 1997, 42:625-630. Examines the prevalence of panic disorder and panic attacks in a sample of 51 patients with asthma. The finding that the onset of asthma almost always preceded the onset of panic supports the hypothesis that asthma may be a risk factor for the development of panic disorder.
