E 1996, 54, 6633 Our earlier detailed characterization of the samples accounted for the effect of the 5% polydispersity of the PMMA samples on the freezing and melting transitions, in order to compare with measurements on other hard sphere dispersions. In the current work we retain the familiar values for monodisperse hard spheres for simplicity. To convert the hard sphere volume fractions reported here to those reported in Phan et al., simply multiply by 1.022.
