1. WernickeKorsakoff syndrome, which is associated with high morbidity and mortality, is a more common neuropsychiatrie sequela of alcohol misuse than is widely realized. It is easily prevented and treated with parenteral B-complex vitamins, although this treatment is widely underutilized.
