    • We are considering a quasi-1D sample, which means that its length L is much larger than the transverse size a. However, a is still supposed to be much larger than the wave length: akF≫ 1. On a scale shorter than a, the sample geometry is then not of 1D, but rather of 2D or 3D nature, which is reflected in the Friedel function (3.21).
