28. In production deposition systems thick films typically deposit on the shielding near the substrates. One of the authors (R.M.) has obtained three samples from different production systems and with thicknesses ranging from 4-20 mm. In all cases the columns are essentially vertical, from macroscopic to microscopic dimensions, and have a top surface that resembles the tops of a cluster of matchsticks.
