    • Spurious solutions are easily produced when cycles of high and infinite period occur (Ref. 18). For the Lorenz and the LS systems, we find that numerical instability may occur at large Prandtl numbers when the stepsize of the integration is insufficiently small. In the current study all integrations were carried out by two different routines in order to reasonably ensure the absence of numerical artifacts.
