    • In the case of the reaction with an asymmetrical olefin possessing a phenyl group ((E)-and (Z)-phenylpropene for example), the seleno group connects at the β-position of phenyl group regioselectively; therefore, the stereochemistry of the product is also determined by the facial selective addition to the olefin of the selenium reagent.
