    • When the present work was ready for publication, another paper was published: G. Kumar, A. Sivashanmugam, N. Muniyandi, S.K. Dhawan and D.C. Trivedi, Synth. Met., 80 (1996) 279. In that paper, the characteristics of a not-solid-state battery Mg|PANI, using solutions of Mg salts as electrolytes, are reported; however, the structure of this cell is different from that described in the present work, and therefore most of the findings reported in the two papers are different.
