5. Cases 3 and 4 reverse the independent variable compared to Cases 1 and 2. The model function fitted in this case is of the form {M′(Y) - a′ - b′ Y}. The regression analyses provide estimates of a′ and b′ and their errors which were converted into the a and b parameters in the function {M(X) - a - bY}used in Cases 1 and 2 so they could be directly compared. It is these converted values which are reported in Tables II and III.
