In principle the tension drop across a pearl due to the skin-slip motion, could also be calculated from the work done on the pearl such that Esun = ATskinVT + Apsicini;TFinding the tension drop this way differs by a factor of (65/77)nvT from using equation (4.4). This discrepancy arises from our model of the inlet and outlet of the pearl.
